Carving Pumpkins

Claire was pretty into carving pumpkins tonight....at least at first. Her pumpkin is a Lion, it is pretty cute. Carving small pumpkins is quite challenging. She wasn't so sure of them when they were lit up in the dark, she had a lot to say (mumble) about them! It is so fun watching her have interest in things now! Can't wait for Halloween now! Let's hope the deer don't eat the faces off the pumpkin this year (that really happened!)

Spencer's new toy!

So the opportunity opened up for us to purchase a new boat. It definately wasn't it the plans, but it just all worked out. Claire loves crawling around in the inside, I am sure in the summer she will be loving her new hangout!

We had professional pics of Claire taken this month. She is just too cute for words. Jolyn (www.daveebluphotography.com) does and amazing job! She has photographed our engagment, wedding, pregnancy, and Claire. She has done an astounding job documenting our life... more to come I am sure!

Outdoors girl!

Claire LOVES to be outside. It is just getting nice enough for us to go out and sit in the sun for a bit! Plus, she is learning to crawl and get aroudn more, but she is unsure of the new turf...grass is different then flooring! With Spence in the heat of Grad school right now, daddy-daughter time is cherished!

Friends

We have established a great group of friends, with babies Claire's age. We had a lot of fun get together's this month. Lots of laughs and adoring the little babies.

It really does get better every moment! Here are some of her little faces as she turned 9 months this month. We really are enjoying every moment, especially as she is able to do more things. It is so fun watching her learn.

I discovered she can and will play on her own for a little bit! It is a little freedome for me, and time for her to discover new things! I put her in her room with a basket of toys, and she loved it! Caught her in action too.

Easter

Claire found a new toy: a plastic Easter egg. Who knew something so simple could bring her so much joy! She had a great Easter, spending time with both families, looking adorable in her dresses (yes she had more than 1). Her personality is showing more all the time, lots of smiles and giggles.

8 months!

Not sure how we got here already, but she is 8 months already! So much fun. We are blessed with a wonderful life. We regularlly get together with some friends for playdates, lunches with Grandmas and visits to Dad and Grandpa at work.

Meeting Great Grandma's Puppy

My parents had Claire on Saturday as i was working. They took her out and ran some errands (she is a good little shopper). They then took her to MY grandma's house to meet her new puppy Sadie. Claire seemed to like her, but Sadie was a little unsure of Claire. When Claire get's excited, she waves her arms up and down and makes little noises, her own version of clapping and cheering. She also let Great Grandma hold her, which is a rarity as she is not always cooperative.

St. Patricks Day

Claire and I went to her friend Taylor's little St. Patty's Day party that night. It was a lot of fun. The host, Tay and her mom Andrea, had cooked a fabulous meal and decorated the house so cute. All the August babies were there, but we weren't able to get a picture of all of them together (bed times and meltdowns!). Claire looked pretty cute in her Irish getup!

She is a funny little thing. Always smiles! Grandma has invented the 'Advanced Claire Containment System' (aka laundry basket). It really does come in handy, she can't fall over and all her toys are right there!!

Sitting up on our own!

Such a big girl already! She really enjoys sitting up on her own, reaching for her toys. She can spend quite some time playing that way (which allows me to get a shower in!). It is amazing how quickly she is changing developmentally. It really does go to fast, but honestly, each stage is more and more fun! She is such a delight. So full of love, sweetness and spunk. She is so smiley from the moment she wakes up to last moments of the night before feeding. We are so in love!
