Amazing little girl

Our friend from church offered to take some photos of her. They turned out really good. Amazing how much she changes daily! She has begun to use her voice the last few days, learning to assert herself. Spencer is back to work now which leaves her and I home alone. It is really quiet for now. I am just working hard on not feeling guilty about being home and just loving on her. It is not like me to just lay so low, I am too much of a busy body. But there is something to be said for just holding her and loving her as much as possible. Life will get busy again, I need to learn to enjoy the peace and quiet!

My mom watched her for a little bit today so I could run some errands. She made sure to take some pictures of her to catch all her little faces in action, and this is the best one! She really is a happy baby!

We took her to the Dr. today, and she weighs 8 lb 15 oz. she is growing rapidly. For her weight she is in the 75th percentile, and her height the 95th. She is a healthy little lady.

We are so blessed by her. It is amazing to love someone instantaneously!

Thursday, 8-7-08

My water broke around 10, so I called Spencer and then the Dr. They saw me at 1 and I was 2.5 cm, we checked into the hospital at 2 pm. At 6, they induced me, at 2:30 am, I was only 3.5 cm. We opted for the epidural since I was exhausted and there were some health concerns for the baby and me. The Dr. stopped by at 5 am and said he could deliver me or come back after the Cesarean he had to do. Since Spence and I were so tired, I told him we would rest and then deliver later. At 7:30 am, the Dr. came and we prepped for delivery. I pushed for about 30 min. and she arrived! Spencer got to deliver her, that was a very special thing for him!

Claire Elizabeth Davenport was born on August 8, 2008 at 8:16 am, weighing 8 pounds and 2 ounces, all in room 8. We jokingly call her "Ocho" because of all the 8's that were present as she came into the world. She is absolutely perfect and we are enamored by her. She sleeps a ton, cries very little, is a healthy little eater, and loves to snuggle. We have had many visitors help welcome to the world! Thanks for all your love and prayers!

And so the journey begins...

Any day now...

It is amazing how quickly time flies! I am definately anxious, trying to be patient, it is hard. I am doing my best to keep busy and I have good days with lots of energy and then days like today, where I am completely wiped out. Overall, this is as bad as it has been, so I have been very blessed. Now I just have to keep extra busy to get the days flying by. Her nursery is ready and we are just awaiting her arrival! We have had a few showers, so she has a closet full of clothes and has more baby things than I think she can ever use. She definately is one spoiled little lady, and she isn't even here yet! These last few days have me feeling restless, but thankfully I have the ability to just be at home taking care of myself and making sure she is safe! Keep us in your thoughts and prayers!
